BRENTWOOD CRIME UPDATE FOR LAST MONTH
Brentwood Crime is down 8%

THEFTS from Construction Sites

Suspects are entering construction sites during off hours. They enter
storage containers and toolboxes and remove tools and anything else of
value .

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by
hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or
fear)
NONE
Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of
money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your
property without your permission)
4 Residences were broken into. 2 had their window or doors smashed or
pried, and 2 had left their doors and windows open. Items taken were
Jewelry, cash, tools, safe, gun, and laptop.
1 were construction site.
LOCATIONS: 100 Acari Dr. 900 S. Bundy Dr., 11300 Isleta St., and
11600Gorham Ave..
Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your
permission)
3 vehicle were taken.
600 Lorna lane, 11700 Mayfield Ave, and 12000 Wilshire Blvd
Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your
vehicle without permission)
12 vehicles were broken into last month. 2 pried door, 5 were unlocked,
and 5 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were
Cash, IPOD’s, Laptops, Stereo, GPS, wallet, cell phones, purse, ID,
Camera, Wet Suit, Tail Lights, Air Bags, Headlights, and Handicap
Placiad.
LOCATIONS: 100Granville Ave, 100 S. Beliot Ave, 700 Gretna Green Way,
900 S. Carmelia Ave, 1000 Amherst Ave, 1700 Westridge Rd, 2400
Mandeville Canyon Road, 11600 Chenhault St, 11700 Darlington Ave, 11900
Kiowa Ave, 12300 Darlington Ave, and 12300 Dorothy St.,
Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and
set your vehicles alarm

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you)
3 Crimes involving victims being grabbed.
LOCATIONS: 100 N. Church Ln, 900 Westgate Ave, and 12600 Homewood Way.

Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical
confrontations

Theft (definition: Someone takes your property without your
permission)
6 Crimes occurred where Wallet, Cell Phone, Tools, Watch, Radio,
Mirrors, and Photographs were taken
LOCATIONS: 200 S. Woodburn Dr., 300 Church Lane, 11600 Montana Ave,
11700 Montana Ave, 11700 San Vicente Blvd, and 11900 San Vicente Blvd..
2 were construction sites.
Prevention: Secure all unattended property.

You cannot rely on the police department to combat crime, you have to
protect and secure your property. Be a good neighbor, keep your eyes and
ears open. Call 911 or 877- ASK-LAPD…
