Meet The Yogurt Shoppe

By Staff Writer

When Brooklyn born Kevin Sabin opened The Yogurt Shoppe located on Swarthmore Avenue he brought a slice of the Big Apple to the Palisades. With its subway tile walls, 1920’s vintage photos of Pacific Palisades and hiring of local kids it embodies the same New York “old neighborhood” feel.

“There was a need for a yogurt shop in the Palisades,” Sabine said. “I wanted a place my kids could hang out that was safe and had healthy snacks.”

Sabin’s number one priority for The Yogurt Shoppe is maintaining the quality of the product served, and it’s what keeps him up at night. He divulges that no product is stored in freezers. All the ingredients, including fresh fruit and baked goods, come from local vendors. He says with pride, “our yogurt is made in-house daily.”

Anyone who has been there can taste the difference. The Yogurt Shoppe cares about offering something for everyone. Its menu features a variety of vegan options and clearly identifies allergens in each product, with the mission to not let dietary restrictions diminish the experience. In fact, their most popular flavor “Jennifer’s Peanut Butter” is not only vegan, but award-winning.

Part of The Yogurt Shoppe’s, commitment is being of service to many charitable causes.

Throughout the calendar year, The Yogurt Shoppe sponsors PPBA teams, provides treats for the annual 90th birthday at The Women’s Club, and donates 15% of sales from 5 pm to 7 pm daily to different local schools and non-profit organizations. Each April they support Autism Awareness by donating proceeds to further research.

Every Monday when school is in session The Yogurt Shoppe gives free froyo to the first 10 kids that come in showing a graded paper of a B+ or better and every Friday they cover the scales and let customers guess the price of their creation. If they get it right it’s absolutely free! The Yogurt Shoppe can even come to your pool party, graduation, birthday or any other event as they also offer a fun fresh take on catering.

Daily/weekly promotions, as well as our current flavors (and of course great pics), can be found online via Instgram, Facebook and Twitter @theyogurtshoppe and on online at www.theyogurtshoppe.com. They deliver on Postmates, Grubhub, Uber Eats and Doordash as well!
