Transforming Brentwood Homes at La Maison Interior Design

By Staff Writer

Looking to transform your home into something truly special? Well, consider La Maison Interior Design located in the Brentwood Village.

Owned by longtime Brentwood resident Mitra Shahi, La Maison’s showroom opened in Brentwood Village in 2014, and showcases items curated specifically to fit into most homes in the surrounding areas. At La Maison Interior Design, Mitra and her Design Support Staff craft environments tailored to the individual end user.

For Mitra and her staff, every project, whether a home, commercial space or a surgery center, it all begins with color.

“We begin with fabric. Fabric inspires colors, colors inspire moods, sketches conjure furnishings from thin air, travel photographs translate atmosphere wordlessly, and floor plans carve spaces for community and solitude,” Mitra said.

Mitra leaves her signature in every home via her custom furnishings and wants her client’s to rest easy knowing the beautiful pieces placed in their homes only exist there. At the same time, however, La Maison is respectful of each home and client’s individuality.

“We’re your partner, advocate and adviser. We’re your home’s guardian. Every detail warrants our attention, down to the flowers on your dining table,” Mitra said. “It’s not enough to create beautiful homes. We make the experience one you’ll treasure.”

Mitra, who has a background in B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Arizona prior to her interior design career, understands the critical details of building a dream home or office. She also does Construction Management from small remodeling to full-on turnkey project.

“Uncommon goods of fine quality transform houses to homes,” Mitra said. “You might see our devotion to customization born out in a precisely tailored sofa, a rug trimmed with nail heads or a perfectly scaled armoire.”

A Brentwood resident of 18 years with her two boys Dara and Pasha, Mitra is also very active in the local community and local charities. When she is not transforming homes, she is helping to transform lives as the Treasurer of the Children of Tomorrow Foundation.

“Being a part of and giving back to the community is something that was embedded in my family values growing up, and is a value I cherish.”
