2444-2456 Barry Avenue approved by City Planning Commission

Last week, the City Planning Commission approved 61-units of affordable and supportive housing in West LA.
The project by Affirmed Housing at 2444-2456 Barry Avenue will provide units for low income, very low income, and formerly homeless residents, according to Councilmember Mike Bonin.
“We need a full menu of strategies to address our homelessness crisis — from short-term solutions that get people off the streets quickly to long-term solutions that increase the inventory of affordable and supportive housing. We need to do all of it,” Bonin said.
The location for the housing is just blocks away from another affordable housing project on southeast corner of Missouri and Bundy know as “Missouri Place”
74 units–funded by HHH for low and very low-income affordability levels–will be built on the site, which is close to parks and public transportation, including the Expo Line Bundy Station. One, two and three-bedroom units will be available, with rents ranging from $1,600-$2,343. 37 units will be supportive housing units for people who have experienced homelessness.
The complex, which is set to open next summer, is now accepting applicants for its affordable unit lottery until October 12. Applications are available at the AccesshousingLA.org site, missouriplace.com and physically at the property site.
