Sherman Oaks location in the works for Pizzana
By Dolores Quintana
One of the Westside’s favorite pizza restaurants from Brentwood is making the leap over the Sepulveda Pass into the San Fernando Valley very soon as reported by Eater Los Angeles.
Pizzana, the “neo-neopolitan” pizza restaurant in Brentwood, is the creation of chef Daniele Uditi that has the pizza lovers on the Westside in its thrall. The restaurant group of owners with an interest in Pizzana include the creators of Sprinkles and co-founders Candace and Charles Nelson and partners Chris and Caroline O’Donnell. The restaurant ownership group was able to secure a new space in West Hollywood in 2019. Now Pizzana will be moving into the same area as Petit Trois le Valley, modern Japanese style restaurant Taisho and Sushi Note on Ventura Boulevard near Woodman Avenue at 13826 Ventura Boulevard.
Chef Uditi slowly ferments the pizza dough and the pizzas have a style that is more about simplicity and crispiness. Pizzana has vegan and gluten free pizza options as well as wood fired vegetables, antipasti and salads. Desserts come from pastry chef and co-founder Candace Nelson and include Sprinkles ice cream and items like a salted caramel panna cotta with a pretzel crunch. Pizzana is a Michelin Bib Gourmand Award recipient and Pizzana’s pies have a “near cult following” according to the Hollywood Reporter. The new Pizzana location in the San Fernando Valley should be opening in the next few months while Chef Uditi is serving as a judge on the television show “Best In Dough” that airs on Hulu.
