Vice President speaks for 19 minutes at DNC fundraiser that raised $1 million

Vice President Kamala Harris spoke at Brentwood fundraiser this week that raised $1 million for Democratic National Committee.
Harris spoke for 19 minutes at the Monday fundraiser, held at the Brentwood home of Dana Walden, chairman of entertainment for Walt Disney Television. Among those in attendance included JJ Abrams and Ryan Murphy. In total, 30 people were at the event.
As reported by Fox 11, Harris discussed the Biden Administration’s emphasis on pay equity, underscoring the distinct needs of women in the workforce over the course of the pandemic. In additoin, she spoke about attempts by Republicans to reduce the cost of child care and support for abortion rights.
Harris during acknowledged the economic difficulties Americans are facing, Fox reported.
“Yeah it costs more money at the pump, and we need to deal with that,” Harris said. “We need to acknowledge but we also need to keep with our program around making it easier to get by day-to-day which means again, going back to the child care, which means bringing down the cost of living, which means looking at what we can do and should do in terms of an investment in affordable housing, what we should do in terms of bringing down the cost of prescription drugs.”
Harris and Second Husband Doug Emhoff will stayed at their Brentwood home Tuesday and Wednesday before flying to San Francisco for a Black maternal health event Thursday. She was expected to return to LAX again Thursday evening.
Harris also visited Vandenberg Air Force Base before her speech Monday.
