Restaurant Offers Housemade Pasta, Oceanic Delights, and Cozy Ambiance in Brentwood
Jemma di Mare officially opened for business on May 1 at 11677 San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood Garden’s Plaza as reported by Eater Los Angeles. According to the restaurant’s website, the menu is focused on seafood and is, at heart, an Italian-American-style restaurant. Their signature dishes are baked clams oregenata, linguine alle vongole, spicy eggplant parmesan, and modern interpretations such as polenta cake with Kaluga caviar and kanpachi crudo siciliana.
Chef Jackson Kalb is an alumnus of Top Chef and a partner in Wake & Late, which has promised a new location for the restaurant in Santa Monica this year. Wake & Late Santa Monica was announced and then delayed in January.
Jemma di Mare is only one of the many restaurants operated by Jackson and Melissa Kalb. Their burgeoning restaurant group includes Jame in El Segundo, with a bar space that was added after opening, and the Venice restaurant Ospi. Their future plans include a new restaurant meant for Hollywood.
Jemma di Mare’s hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily on weekdays. Dinner is served daily from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The dinner hours might vary slightly and occasionally run later. Jemma di Mare plans to open a brunch service in the near future. To reserve a table, you can call 424-317-0007 or book through OpenTable.
