The Brentwood Library Has Events This Week For Children and Adults

Kids Who Love To Listen and Play and Adults Who Want To Writer Are Welcome

Your local library is buzzing with engaging activities for children of all ages this week. From STAR Reader sessions to creative brick-building playtime, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Mark your calendars and get ready for some fun! You can check out the website for The Donald Bruce Kaufman – Brentwood Library here

On Wednesday, May 24, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, STAR Reader Bonnie will be at the library, ready to share captivating stories and ignite imaginations. Children are invited to gather around as Bonnie takes them on literary adventures, fostering a love for reading and expanding their academic horizons. This interactive session promises to be educational and entertaining, providing young readers with a memorable experience.

The excitement continues on Thursday, May 25, with a brick-building playtime from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Kids can unleash their creativity and construct marvelous structures using colorful building blocks. This hands-on activity encourages problem-solving, fine motor skills, and imaginative thinking. Whether they build towering skyscrapers, cozy houses, or creative sculptures, children will have a blast expressing themselves through the power of play.

Later that day, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, STAR Reader Camille will take the stage, captivating young minds with her storytelling prowess. With a dynamic and engaging style, Camille will transport children to enchanting worlds filled with adventure, humor, and valuable life lessons. This session is designed to instill a lifelong love for literature and inspire young readers to embark on their literary journeys.

These library events provide fantastic opportunities for children to engage with books, explore their creativity, and develop a deeper appreciation for storytelling. The library staff is dedicated to fostering a love of reading and learning, and these events showcase their commitment to the community.

Join STAR Readers Bonnie and Camille, and indulge in the joy of storytelling, imagination, and play. Bring your friends, siblings, and parents for an afternoon of laughter, learning, and literary adventures.

For adults, you can join the Writing From the Heart: A Memoir Workshop on Friday, May 26.

Here is the information for those budding writers who want to join in: “Everyone has a story! Join us in a safe space to share yours. Local author Judi Sadowsky will help participants support one another on their writing journeys as they tell their own unique personal stories.”

Advance registration is required for the Writing From The Heart Workshop as space is limited. Please note that this workshop takes place over the course of six Friday afternoons. Please contact the library at brntwd@lapl.org or 310-575-8273 to register.
