Join Diesel, A Bookstore on June 15 at 6:30 pm as they welcome Cecilia Rabess to the store to discuss and sign her debut novel, “Everything’s Fine.”
In “Everything’s Fine,” readers are introduced to Jess, a young woman who lands a job as an analyst at Goldman Sachs. However, her excitement quickly fades when she discovers she’ll be working alongside Josh, a preppy, white, conservative colleague from college who constantly challenges her. Despite their differences, when Jess faces adversity as the sole Black woman on the floor, Josh unexpectedly supports her in imperfect yet significant ways.
Cecilia Rabess, the author of “Everything’s Fine,” brings her own unique perspective to the story. Having previously worked as a data scientist at Google and as an associate at Goldman Sachs, Rabess draws from her professional experiences to weave a compelling narrative. Her nonfiction work has been featured in esteemed publications such as McSweeneys, FiveThirtyEight, Fast Company, and FlowingData.
The book signing and discussion event with Cecilia Rabess will take place at DIESEL, A Bookstore at the Brentwood Country Mart located at 225 26th Street in Brentwood. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the author, delve into the themes explored in “Everything’s Fine,” and have their books signed. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
