Donald Bruce Kaufman Library Is Bursting With Events And Book Recommendations

Programs For Health and the Book Spotlight for LGBTQIA Pride Month

The Brentwood Library has a full schedule of events and programs for June. Here are the details about what the book clubs and other events are and a list of books that the library has put the spotlight on for LGBTQIA Pride Month. 

The Fiction Book Club is reading The Awakening by Kate Chopin. 
Nonfiction Book Club is reading Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston.

Communication and Dementia is the last of a three-part series presented by Alzheimer’s LA. 

Meditation with Doug Frankel – Discover the key to deeper concentration, relaxation, and profound personal growth.

Silk Road: Music of India and China – Enjoy live music from China and India, featuring Yihan Chen on the pipa and ruan and Christopher Garcia playing the tabla and ghatam.

Toddler/Preschool Storytime is a storytelling program aimed at ages 18 months to 4 years. • Brick Building Playtime is a drop-in playtime aimed at 4-11 years old.

Summer STEAM Craft is a weekly summer program for ages 3-10, where each week, we will do a different activity related to science and technology.

Baby Music and Play is a monthly talk & play space only for children under two years old.

STAR Readers are volunteers who read and tell stories to kids of all ages in our children’s area. 

DJ Hapa is a program for teens who love music to find out more about the skills needed to be a DJ. 

Teen Council: Join Teen Council to help plan the library programs that you would want to attend.
