Chad Smith, Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Drummer, Purchases Brentwood Mansion

Stunning Brentwood Residence Showcases Understated Luxury

Nestled in the serene hills of Brentwood on a tranquil cul-de-sac, this remarkable residence epitomizes refined elegance, as reported by The Dirt.com. Meticulously designed by expert craftsmen, the dark gray house exudes understated luxury across its three expansive levels. This home exemplifies the epitome of Californian living with wide-plank oak floors, custom iron windows, bespoke cabinetry, and seamless indoor-outdoor living through steel-framed glass doors.

The spec mansion is a 9,200-square-foot property sold in 2019 for $14.6 million to George Strompolos, founder and former CEO of Fullscreen. It quickly found a buyer in Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, who acquired the residence for $18 million and an additional $1.5 million for the luxurious furnishings, bringing his total investment to a substantial $19.5 million.

Notable features of Smith’s new abode include a chef’s kitchen boasting marble countertops and designer appliances, a mudroom with direct access to the attached two-car garage, a charming breakfast nook with built-in banquette seating, and a primary suite with vaulted ceilings and a private balcony.

The lower level of the residence, partially below ground, offers an opulent space that includes a gym, movie theater, lounge area, wet bar, wine cellar, and two guest bedroom suites. Glass doors from this level open up to a lush lawn adorned with a bocce ball court and a children’s playset.

The terraced backyard showcases a separate brick patio shaded by a majestic sycamore tree, complemented by an infinity pool that overlooks the verdant treetops. Below the pool, a gazebo provides a serene spot for quiet contemplation.

Strompolos, the previous owner, is rumored to be relocating to Malibu, where he recently purchased an $8.6 million home in the coveted Point Dume area. He also owns a magnificent residence in the picturesque Steamboat Springs community in Colorado.
