Firefighters Worked in Challenging Terrain, No Structures Harmed

Firefighters successfully battled a blaze in the vicinity of 4020 N Mandeville Canyon Rd on September 8, according to a report on the Los Angeles Fire Department’s website. Fire crews established a crucial anchor point—marking the furthest point the fire could advance—and encircled the blaze with hose lines, even in challenging, steep terrain. Firestation 19, Battalion 9 was responsible for fighting this blaze.
Simultaneously, fire helicopters executed precise water drops to douse the fire’s leading edge.
The coordinated efforts of 36 firefighters culminated in the successful extinguishment of the flames, which had engulfed medium-to-heavy brush.
Importantly, no structures were endangered during this operation. This remarkable response occurred in just 61 minutes, highlighting the dedication and professionalism of the firefighting team.
After the recent tropical storm and wet weather, much more so than normal for late summer, thankfully, fires have not been as frequently seen in the hills and brush areas of Los Angeles this year.
