Veep’s Humor Meets Agatha’s Intrigue: Kemper Donovan Book Event at the Brentwood Country Mart

Join the All About Agatha Host for a Riveting Blend of Wit and Whodunit

Fans of intelligent and witty literary mysteries, get ready for a thrilling ride as Kemper Donovan, host of the “All About Agatha” podcast, unveils a captivating story that blends the humor of “Veep” with the intrigue of Agatha Christie. This novel, perfect for enthusiasts of Richard Osman, Anthony Horowitz, and Nita Prose, injects the spark and fizz of a Golden Age murder mystery into the present-day. Diesel: A Bookstore will hold an event with the author on January 23.

In this gripping tale, a ghostwriter is chosen to collaborate on the memoir of a presidential candidate, leading to unexpected twists and turns. Former Senator Dorothy Gibson, a controversial figure after a shocking election result, invites her ghostwriter to her rural Maine home. What starts as a dream assignment turns into a top-secret murder investigation when a neighbor dies under suspicious circumstances.

“I tell other people’s stories for a living… I nip and tuck their excesses, soften their hard edges, polish whatever an armada of editors and publicists deem unsightly till it sparkles,” says the protagonist. As Dorothy Gibson and her collaborator delve into the murder mystery, they use their storytelling and sleuthing skills to untangle motives and unveil surprising truths.

Join Kemper Donovan for an engaging discussion and book signing event at Diesel: A Book Store.

  • Date: Tuesday, January 23, 2024
  • Time: 6:30 pm
