Fire Station 19 Deploys Ground and Air Response to Aid Biker
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to an incident involving an adult male mountain bicyclist who suffered a leg injury after a fall on West Mandeville Fire Road on February 8. The rescue operation commenced at 10:01 a.m.
The preliminary information indicates that the injured individual required urgent attention, prompting a coordinated ground and air response from the LAFD. The primary plan involved hoisting the patient into the LAFD rescue helicopter. This approach aimed to provide in-flight treatment during the direct transport of the patient to a regional trauma center.
The rescue was successful in Council District 11 by Fire Station 19.
