BrentwoodMeet Advocates for Recognition of Late KTLA Reporter
Simone Joseph of BrentwoodMeet has initiated a Change.org petition advocating for a star on Hollywood Boulevard for beloved entertainment reporter Sam Rubin of KTLA. Many residents of Brentwood and the West Los Angeles area have fond memories of watching Rubin report live on TV or seeing him around the neighborhood where he lived in Brentwood.
“We firmly believe he needs his star on the Walk of Fame,” Joseph stated on the petition. “Since I moved to LA, I and millions like me were glued to his morning interviews with celebrities on KTLA 5 and he was the reason for our joie de vivre. I am sure we all want an area to pay tribute to Sam Rubin. Please sign this petition and forward it to everyone who is still mourning him.”
Rubin, who won multiple Emmys, was a prominent figure in West Los Angeles, where he grew up. Known for his kind demeanor and stellar reputation, Rubin was a respected journalist both on red carpets and behind the anchor desk at KTLA. His passing was deeply mourned by many Hollywood actors, including Jane Seymour, Tom Hanks, Viola Davis, Ben Stiller, Guillermo del Toro, Kiefer Sutherland, and Octavia Spencer, as well as by the community, united in their grief.
