Community Invited to Weekly Storytime, Playtime, and Free Eye Exams for Children and Teens
The Donald Bruce Kaufman Brentwood Library’s “Summer With the Library” program concluded with over a thousand attendees participating in various children’s events. The successful summer series will transition into a year-round schedule of activities aimed at engaging children and teens in educational and fun experiences.
This week’s offerings include regular programs such as Storytime and Brick Building Playtime, as well as Vision to Learn’s free eye exams for kids and teens aged 5 to 18. The eye exams will take place on Thursdays, August 15th, 22nd, and 29th, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. in the library branch’s parking lot. While walk-ins are welcome, appointments can be secured through the Vision to Learn website to guarantee a spot.
Here’s the schedule for the upcoming week:
- Tuesday, August 13, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Alicia
- Wednesday, August 14, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.: Toddler/Preschool Storytime
- Thursday, August 15, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.: Vision to Learn (in the library parking lot)
- Thursday, August 15, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.: Brick-Building Playtime
- Thursday, August 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Camille
Children’s Librarian Maddy Gillette expressed the Library staff’s gratitude to the community for making the summer program magical and stated that they look forward to continuing to host events that entertain and educate throughout the year.
