LAPL Introduces Options for Storytime, Book Recommendations, and Virtual Tutoring
As the school year kicks off, many families are adjusting to new routines, and the Brentwood Library has noted that Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) offers several services to help make the transition smoother for parents and children.
For those finding it challenging to visit the library or select books for their little ones, the LAPL has introduced several convenient options. “Storytime Anytime” features storytime videos created by LAPL librarians, including Maddy Gillette, Children’s librarian at the Brentwood Library, available for viewing at your convenience.
The “Book Bundles to Go” program allows parents to request personalized book recommendations for their children, which can be picked up once ready. Additionally, free virtual tutoring for K-12 students is available on demand through Tutor.com, providing academic support directly from home.
To access these services, patrons will need their library card number and PIN, which is the last four digits of their phone number. If they encounter any difficulties with online services, they can contact the library directly at 310-575-8273.
Despite the holiday, the library will maintain its regular programming this week, though it will be closed on Monday for Labor Day. Highlights of the week include Toddler/Preschool Storytime sessions on Wednesday and Brick-Building Playtime on Thursday.
Here’s a look at the this week’s schedule:
