Authors Andrew Davis and Jeff Biggers to Discuss Disturbing the Bones at Diesel: A Bookstore

Join the Conversation With Davis and Biggers on October 17

Authors Andrew Davis and Jeff Biggers will be at Diesel, A Bookstore in the Brentwood Country Mart, on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss and sign their latest book, Disturbing the Bones. The event, featuring a conversation moderated by journalist Ian Masters, will take place in the bookstore’s courtyard and is free to attend.

Andrew Davis, raised on the southside of Chicago, is the acclaimed director and screenwriter of numerous films, including Holes, Under Siege, Code of Silence, A Perfect Murder, and The Guardian, and whose landmark film, The Fugitive, chosen in 2020 by Los Angeles Times readers as the ultimate summer film, was nominated for seven Academy awards including Best Picture. Disturbing the Bones is his debut novel.

Jeff Biggers, the American Book Award-winning author of many works of investigative journalism, history, and theatre, including Reckoning at Eagle Creek, winner of the Delta Prize for Literature and the Brower Award for Environmental Reporting, and the recent In Sardinia. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, and NPR.

Both authors will appear to share insights into their collaborative work at the event. Disturbing the Bones is a thriller that intertwines a Chicago detective’s return to his hometown with the discovery of mysterious bones at an archaeological site. Detective Randall Jenkins and archaeologist Dr. Molly Moore find themselves entangled in a conspiracy involving a rogue military general, with the fate of a global peace summit hanging in the balance.

The book has won praise from Publisher’s Weekly, with a starred review, and filmmaker and author Michael Mann, who said, “A knife-edged investigation that morphs into a political thriller about a world on the brink. An ingenious page turner.”
