Rowing Blazers is a vibrant exploration of the history and significance of the iconic rowing blazer, a garment rooted in tradition and collegiate rowing culture. Originally crafted for British boathouse crews, the blazer has become synonymous with classic American style.
The revised edition showcases expanded content, including profiles of historic and contemporary rowing clubs worldwide, such as the University of Washington, featured in the film The Boys in the Boat, and Manley Career Academy High School in Chicago, home to the nation’s first all-Black high school rowing team. Additionally, the book highlights programs like Row New York and Fulham Reach Boat Club, which prioritize diversity and inclusion in rowing.
Rich with stunning photography, Rowing Blazers takes readers on a journey through atmospheric boathouses and campuses, spotlighting the athletes and traditions that define the sport.
