BRENTWOOD CRIME UPDATE
Crime in Brentwood is still down 14%. Violent crime in Brentwood dropped from -23% to -61%. Our main crime issues are vehicle and residential related. Lock your doors and windows, set the alarms on your homes and vehicles.

If you see anything that you feel is suspicious, but not an emergency, go to
www.alertcommunity.com . It allows citizens to document suspicious activity
quickly, easily, and anonymously. This web site contributes to the safety of
our community and to the prevention of crime. The database is accessed only by
the LAPD.

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear)
NONE
Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don�t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission)
11 Residences were broken into. 6 had their windows or doors smashed, kicked, or pried, and 5 had left their doors and windows open. Items taken were DVD, tools, jewelry, camera, wallet, credit card, TV, IPOD, computer, checks, laptop, mail, keys, and keg. 4 were construction sites.

LOCATIONS: 10 Oakmont Dr, 300 S. Westgate Ave., 600 Moreno Ave, 1800 Westridge Rd, 11700 Mayfield Ave, 11700 Montana Ave, 11800 Wilshire Blvd, 11900 Wilshire Blvd, 11900 W. Sunset Blvd, and 12000 Goshen Ave..
Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission)
NONE
Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your vehicle without permission)
15 vehicles were broken into last month. 1 pried lock, 2 keys were used, 6 were unlocked, and 6 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were Cash, books, credit card, checks, pants, cell phone, clothes, computer, mirror, IPOD�s, bag, sunglasses, keys, and catalytic converters.

LOCATIONS: 100 S. Westgate Ave, 100 S. Burlingame Ave, 300 S. Barrington Ave, 900 Granville Ave, 1000 Granville Ave, 1100 Granville Ave, 1100 S. Wellesley Ave, 11400 Sunset Blvd, 11700 Kiowa Ave, 11800 Kiowa Ave, 12000 Wilshire Blvd, 12200 Gorham Ave, 12300 Montana Ave, and 12900 Marlboro St.,
Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicle�s alarm

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you)
Verbal dispute lead to suspect striking victim at 100 S. Barrington Ave
Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations

Theft (definition: Someone takes your property without your permission)
10 Crimes occurred Cash, Bicycle, Wallet, tools, purse, clothes, watch, and computer were taken

LOCATIONS: 100 S. Burlingame Ave, 300 S. Westgate Ave, 1600 San Remo Dr., 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11800 Goshen Ave, 11900 Montana Ave, 11900 San Vicente Blvd, 11900 Darlington Ave, 12300 Darlington Ave, and 12300 Wilshire Blvd .
Prevention: Secure all unattended property.
