A Reptile Show and Magic Show Bring Summer Exhilaration To The Brentwood Library

Regular Steam Crafts and Storytime Sessions Are Also Schedule For This Week

By Dolores Quintana

As the summer season races by, the library is gearing up for a host of thrilling events that will keep children and families entertained. This week, we have our regular STEAM crafts, Storytime, and Brick Building Playtime lineup. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there. Mark your calendars for two upcoming events that promise extraordinary experiences for all attendees.

First on the agenda is Saturday, July 22, at 2:00 p.m., when the Library celebrates the 29th Anniversary of our library’s opening with An Afternoon of Laughter and Magic with the amazing “El Ropo,” aka Phil Van Tee. Phil will entertain, amuse, and amaze with his comedy and sleight of hand magic. He is a graduate of the Ringling Brothers Circus School. He is a former Professor of Magic at the Magic Castle University and is a current performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. You won’t want to miss this memorable afternoon!

The second event is Thor’s Reptile Family, an interactive reptile show on Monday, July 24th, at 4:00 p.m. Children of all ages and their families are invited to join in on the fun. Get ready to meet fascinating reptiles up close and learn about their unique characteristics in an engaging and educational environment.

Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone that this week marks the final week of our 8-week Storytime session. Please note that there will be no Storytime on July 26th and August 2nd. So, make sure to join us this week to enjoy the last installment of this session.

Now, let’s take a closer look at what’s in store for this week at the library:

  • Tuesday, July 18th at 3:00 p.m.: Summer STEAM Craft – Unleash your inner scientist and explore chemical reactions with invisible ink and exploding lemons!
  • Wednesday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m.: Toddler/Preschool Storytime – Engage your little ones with delightful stories and interactive activities designed specifically for their age group.
  • Wednesday, July 19th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Bonnie – Kids can enhance their reading skills by practicing with our STAR Reader, Bonnie.
  • Thursday, July 20th, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Brick Building Playtime – Unleash your creativity and construct unique structures using LEGO bricks.
  • Thursday, July 20th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: STAR Reader Camille – Join our STAR Reader, Camille, for an engaging reading session that will transport you to exciting new worlds.
