Acclaimed Author John Sayles Discusses Latest Novel at Diesel Brentwood Bookstore

Sayles’ Latest Novel, “Jamie MacGillivray: The Renegade’s Journey,” to be Discussed at March 7 event

Brentwood’s Diesel, A Bookstore will be hosting a free discussion and book signing next week event with acclaimed author, John Sayles. The event is centered on his latest novel, “Jamie MacGillivray: The Renegade’s Journey”.

The story follows the lives of Jamie and Jenny as they navigate through servitude, revolt, escape, recapture, guerilla warfare and romantic entanglements. Set in America during the mid-18th century, the two become pawns in a deadly historic game where the rules keep changing. As they cross paths with some of the leading figures of the era—the devious Lord Lovat; a young and ambitious George Washington; and the Lenape chief feared throughout the Ohio Valley, Shingas the Terrible—Jamie must navigate through treacherous no-man’s-land of proxy war between British and French while Jenny struggles to escape bondage or gallows.

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 7th at 6:30 pm at DIESEL, A Bookstore in Brentwood. Attendees can reserve their seats by purchasing a book beforehand. John Sayles is known for directing movies such as Matewan, City of Hope and Lone Star which earned him Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay. He has also written numerous novels since 1975 including At the Anarchist’s Convention and Dillinger in Hollywood among others. This promises to be an exciting evening for fans of historical fiction or anyone interested in meeting one of America’s great storytellers.

Event details are: Date – Tuesday, March 7th at 6:30 pm Address – DIESEL, A Bookstore 225 26th St Suite 33 Santa Monica, CA 90402

The event is free to attend and will be held in the courtyard at DIESEL.
