Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Open Escrow on $50+ Million Bel Air Estate

Home is very close to the Bel Air Country Club

By Dolores Quintana

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have taken another and serious step forward in their relationship by entering into escrow to purchase a Bel Air estate together.

How serious is it? Well, the escrow amount that Bennifer has agreed to pay is approximately $55 million. The mansion was built in 1936 and designed by renowned architect Paul Williams and was put on the market by hedge fund manager Todd and his wife Kasey Lemkin in February and originally listed for sale at $65 million. While it remains to be seen if the escrow on the home will close, it shows how serious the pair are about their relationship.

The mansion covers 19,721 square feet and has ten bedrooms and 17 bathrooms on a lot of 1.2 acres.

Both actors own other properties in Los Angeles and elsewhere. Jennifer Lopez owns an opulent estate that she purchased from Sela Ward, a $20 million condo in New York City and another mansion in The Hamptons as well as a more modest home in Encino. Affleck has a home in the Riviera area of the Pacific Palisades and another mansion in Georgia.

This potential new home is very close to the Bel Air Country Club and underwent an extensive renovation by the current owners after the previous owners had expanded the property to mammoth proportions. The Lemkin’s renovation restored the classic sense of style that the home originally had. The home has beautiful views of Century City.

The home is listed with Drew Fenton and Linda May of Hilton and Hyland and the photos show impressively styled rooms, a huge backyard area and a guesthouse. The estate has four kitchens, a main kitchen, catering kitchen, guest house kitchen and an outdoor BBQ area and kitchen.

The mansion also comes with a movie theatre, wine cellar and office with wood paneling. The master bedroom/retreat upstairs has two closets, one marbled bathroom. The basement level has a gym, media room and a “security suite” outfitted for a full time bodyguard. The backyard has an infinity pool, putting green, fire pits and well tended gardens.

The Lemkins put the property up for sale since they have relocated to Dallas, Texas and have another home in Aspen, Colorado.
