Brentwood councilman Mike Bonin (Council District 11) spent the morning of Monday, Oct. 6 getting his hands dirty making neighborhood improvements.
First, he joined a LADOT crew on San Vicente to fight “sign blight” by helping to remove some “WRONG WAY – DO NOT ENTER” and “DIVIDED HIGHWAY” signs at the intersection of Carmelina Ave. that had recently been added to the roadway.
After the signs were put up in early September, Bonin’s office received a lot of questions and complaints from Brentwood residents, who felt they were excessive and created “sign blight.”
Following the removal of the signs, Bonin, DOT staff, and Brentwood residents Bruce Jugan and Liz Camfoird officially “flipped the switch” on a new left-turn signal at Sunset and Kenter, which will help improve the flow of traffic and make the area safer for everyone who uses the street.
