LA Times releases preseason high school basketball rankings

While LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers have been stealing the Los Angeles basketball spotlight not to be forgotten is the Brentwood School boys basketball team who was recently ranked by the LA Times as one of the top teams in the city coming off a season for the ages.
According to the LA Times’ preseason high school basketball, the Brentwood High School Eagles are ranked number 16 in the greater Los Angeles area.
“Sophomore Christian Moore is coming off terrific freshman season,” writes the LA Times’ Eric Sondheimer.
The Times‘ rankings include 25 teams and is topped by the two-time defending CIF Champions Sierra Canyon High School.
Brentwood is only one of two teams on the Westside to make the top-25, the other being Windward High School in Culver City who was ranked number 5.
Brentwood will continue preseason play season on Wednesday versus Agoura High School in a neutral game. Fans will get a chance to see the Eagles at home when they host Windward on January 7, 2019.
Last year, Brentwood had a season for the ages, going 23-7 and making it to the quarterfinals of the 2019 CIF Southern Section Ford Boys Basketball Playoffs. Led by coach Ryan Bailey, at one point the team was the 12th ranked team in California and the number 40 team in the nation.
