MJ Coleman, Parker Turner lead Brentwood in Tuesday victory
Brentwood School’s MJ Coleman’s speed and agility were showcased yet again Tuesday night for Brentwood School in a victory over Campbell Hall. After a month of hard work, Coleman shed 10 pounds from football season to regain his basketball form, making him an essential part of Brentwood’s 17-2 record this season.
His ability to get around defenders with quickness, along with his 11 points in the first quarter, set the tone for a 88-77 Gold Coast League victory over Campbell Hall. His 15 total points were third on Brentwood with Parker Turner scored 23, while Jordan Houegban made five threes and had 17 points. James Olofson added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brentwood’s balanced attack was too much for Campbell Hall, despite Tanner Jones scoring 18 points to lead the Vikings.
Campbell Hall fell behind 27-7 in the first half and trailed by as many as 20 points in the third quarter before getting as close as eight points in the fourth quarter. Brentwood improved to 3-0 in the league.
