Brentwood Farmers’ Market
Every Sunday the popular Farmers’ Market, sponsored by 90049 Services, offers vegetables, flowers and other foods from surrounding farms. The Farmer’s Market is open from 9:00 a.m-2:30 p.m. and is located at 741 Gretna Green Way (between San Vicente and Montana Aves, one block west of Bundy).

Movie Night at the Brentwood Country Mart
Every Monday night until August 23, the Brentwood Country Mart will be showing a movie in its south courtyard. The movies start at 7:00.

Brentwood Community Council
On the first Tuesday of every month the Kaufman Branch Library holds the Brentwood Community Council meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The BCC provides a public forum to discuss civic issues of importance.

Brentwood Rotary Club Luncheon
Every Tuesday noon Brentwood’s Rotary Club meets at Angeleno Hotel, 16th floor. Call Dennis Hinman at 310-666-8206 for meeting times, reservations or membership information.

Aerobics for Seniors
Every Thursday, at 10:15 a.m., low impact aerobics for seniors to improve circulation and muscle tone takes place at the Barrington Recreation Center.

Othello
Every Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm, from July 10 through August 8, the Shakespeare and Veterans company will perform Othello, the classic tale of murder and betrayal. The best part? It’s free. Located at West Los Angeles Bandshell, 11338 Santa Monica Blvd (Santa Monica Blvd & Corinth Ave).

Lecture on Ancient Greek Art
On Wednesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m., art historian J. Michael Padgett will give a free lecture on ancient Greek art. This event will take place at The Getty Villa.

Making Faces: Playful Portraits of People You Know
Hanoch Piven’s playful exhibit of well-known politicians, actors, characters, and members of society uses creative resources to depict the faces. Such figures are Barbra Streisand, Barack Obama, Homer Simpson, Madonna, and Albert Einstein. This exhibit is at the Skirball Center and will be on display until July 18.

Jazz at LACMA
On Friday, July 16 the CJS Quintet will perform. The concert will start at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Los Angeles County Arboretum Day
On July 20, take the family into the heart of Rancho Santa Anita to enjoy 127 acres of nature. The Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, a botanical garden and historical site, opens its gates to the public for free every third Tuesday of the month. Located at 301 N. Baldwin Ave, Arcadia.

Goldilocks and the
Three Buccaneers
The Westwood Branch Library will be holding a puppet show of “Goldilocks and the Three Buccaneers†on Monday, July 20 at 4:00 p.m. The show is presented by Swazzle.

Fashion On Wheels at The Petersen Automotive Museum
This new display will hit the Petersen Automotive Museum on Saturday, July 24. The streamlined fashion and automobiles will date back to as early as the 20th century.

I Love You, Alice B. Toklas
At 1:30 p.m., showing of the 1968 film “I Love You, Alice B. Toklas†will take place on Tuesday, August 3 at the Skirball Cultural Center. The film is rated R, and no reservations are required for the event.

Art of Jean-Léon Gérôme
at the Getty
Until September 12, the Getty Center will be exhibiting the work of 19th Century French artist Jean-Léon Gérôme. This exhibition, representing the public’s imagination at the time, is in the Getty’s Exhibitions Pavillion.
