BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY COUNCIL BESTOWS “YOUTH CITIZEN AWARDS†– 2009

Callie Kloves – Junior, Brentwood School.
Organized Blood Drive for two years, collecting 200 pints of blood from students, faculty, & staff.
Co-President, Brentwood Aid for Disease and Disaster.
Captain, Swim Team
Volunteer at UCLA Medical Center, Headstart, and Foster Kids Camp.

Dayna April – Senior, Brentwood School
Organized community service trip to Mexico for two years through Tijuana Christian Mission; organizing art and crafts supplies drive for students in Mexico.

Enriched community through arts, music and visual arts.

Graham MacGillivray – Senior, Palisades High School
Eagle Scout, member of Order of the Arrow.
Planned and led a major tree planting project at Beethoven Elementary, one of the largest Eagle Scout Projects in Western Regional Council,
Fundraising, with teachers and parents, to enlist over 400 volunteers to organize demolition of asphalt, install extensive irrigation system, and plant over 175 trees.
Awarded “Citizen Forester†from TreePeople.
Vice President of Palisades-Malibu YMCA’s California Youth and Government model legislature and court program, Chief Page to statewide program in charge of over 100 teenagers.
