While Mandatory Evacuations Remain in Place, Brentwood Soldiers On
The Brentwood Community Council stated, in an emailed statement, “We send our heartfelt prayers and wishes for safety to all those impacted by the ongoing fire.”
In light of the emergency, Wednesday night’s Brentwood Community Council (BCC) meeting has been postponed. Updates on rescheduling will be provided as the situation evolves.
Evacuation orders remain in effect for all areas of the Palisades and significant portions of Brentwood as firefighters battle the Palisades Fire. The affected area stretches from San Vicente Boulevard to the north and Kenter Avenue to the west, impacting thousands of residents.
Officials have urged residents to prioritize safety and follow all instructions from first responders.
Since The Los Angeles Public Library has closed all locations, any previously announced programs at the Donald Bruce Kaufman Brentwood Library have been canceled.
The Farmshop at the Brentwood Country Mart canceled dinner service on Wednesday and closed early at 4:00 p.m. The restaurant’s Instagram page noted that they would update customers about their schedule for Thursday, January 9.
