Brentwood Community Council Updates: A New Social Media Page And Meeting Scheduled

The Next BCC Meeting Will Take Place On Wednesday, June 14

The Brentwood Community Council has announced its next meeting in the BCC newsletter. It stated, “Our next meeting is on Wednesday, June 14th at 5:30 pm at Brentwood Presbyterian Church.   We have two guest speakers this month.   As June is National Safety Month, we thought it very fitting to hear from Carol Parks, the General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department.  Come learn about how our City’s emergency and disaster response systems.  We will also be hearing from Denise Allen of the Metropolitan Water District regarding emergency work that the agency needs to perform to the Sepulveda Feeder water line, which is an integral part of the MWDs regional water distribution system.  The full agenda will be available on the BCC website here.

The email also talked about the BCC Homelessness Task Force meeting on June 6 and expressed thanks for the meeting’s special guest. It said, “The Homelessness Task Force expresses its deep gratitude to Reverend Andy Bales for joining us on June 6th and leading a fascinating evening of conversation regarding the work of Union Rescue Mission.  The library meeting room was full, and all in attendance were deeply engaged in the conversation.  Union Rescue Mission provides services and care to men, women, children and families in Skid Row and elsewhere in our city, working with individuals and families to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency.  If you want to learn more about the work of Reverend Bales and Union Rescue Mission, visit their website: www.urm.org.

Finally, in two more announcements, BCC announced that their brand new website is now live and that the Council now has an Instagram page which you can find at @bcc90049. They invited community members to follow the page for more information and updates from the Council
