The Next BCC Meeting Will Take Place On Wednesday, June 14
The Brentwood Community Council has announced its next meeting in the BCC newsletter. It stated, “Our next meeting is on Wednesday, June 14th at 5:30 pm at Brentwood Presbyterian Church. We have two guest speakers this month. As June is National Safety Month, we thought it very fitting to hear from Carol Parks, the General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department. Come learn about how our City’s emergency and disaster response systems. We will also be hearing from Denise Allen of the Metropolitan Water District regarding emergency work that the agency needs to perform to the Sepulveda Feeder water line, which is an integral part of the MWDs regional water distribution system. The email also talked about the BCC Homelessness Task Force meeting on June 6 and expressed thanks for the meeting’s special guest. It said, “The Homelessness Task Force expresses its deep gratitude to Reverend Andy Bales for joining us on June 6th and leading a fascinating evening of conversation regarding the work of Union Rescue Mission. The library meeting room was full, and all in attendance were deeply engaged in the conversation. Union Rescue Mission provides services and care to men, women, children and families in Skid Row and elsewhere in our city, working with individuals and families to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency.
