Brentwood Crime Update

Among recent Brentwood crimes include an attempted robbery in which a suspect punched a business owner in the face after demanding money.

Burglary

07-15-21 1815 Hrs/ 07-16-21 0940 Hrs, 12000 Block of Wilshire Blvd, Susp(s) used fire extinguisher to smash front window of business and entered the location. Once inside the susp(s) removed property and fled the location. Property taken was a laptop computer.

07-15-21 1630 Hrs/ 07-16-21 0715 Hrs, 300 Block of S. Anita Ave, Susp(s) broke open key lock box on front door and used key to enter the location. Once inside the susp(s) the susp(s) removed property and fled location in a white pickup truck. Property taken was a television and (3) paint sprayers.

Robbery

(Attempt Robbery)07-16-21 1920 Hrs, 11600 Block of San Vicente, Susp approached front window of business and began hitting window. The owner of the business came out and approached the suspect and told him to stop hitting the window. The suspect then struck the victim in the face at which time he fell to the ground and demanded money. The victim then got up and refused to hand over the money at which time the suspect fled southbound on Barrington Ave. The suspect was described as a male white, brown hair, approx. 5’8” 175 lbs and 40 years old.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle/Theft From Motor Vehicle

07-11-21 1000 Hrs/ 07-15-21 1230 Hrs, 500 Block of Avondale Ave, Susp(s) cut off catalytic converter from vehicle. Victim’s vehicle was a 2008 Toyota Prius parked on the street.

07-15-21 0530 Hrs, 1900 Block of Mandeville Canyon, Susp was observed on video opening the victim’s locked vehicle by unk means and removing property. Property taken was sunglasses and a jacket. Susp was a male white approx. 170 lbs and between 30 and 40 years of age. Susp was wearing a blue baseball, blue vest and shirt and tan shorts.

07-17-21 1200 Hrs/ 07-18-21 1000 Hrs, 11700 Block of West Sunset Blvd, Susp(s) entered vehicle by unk means and removed the victim’s property. Victim’s vehicle was parked in underground garage. Property taken was U.S. currency.

Grand Theft Auto

07-13-21 1400 Hrs/ 07-18-21 1930 Hrs, 11600 Block of Kiowa Ave, 2014 Hyundai Elantra was taken fron the street.

07-16-21 2100 Hrs/ 07-17-21 0730 Hrs, 400 Block of Saltair Ave, 2002 BMW X5 was taken from the victim’s driveway.

07-16-21 2100 Hrs/ 07-17-21 0730 Hrs, 400 Block of Saltair Ave, 2013 GMC Sierra pickup was taken from the victim’s driveway.

07-18-21 2000 Hrs/ 07-19-21 1215 Hrs,11400 Block of Waterford St., 2016 Land Rover was taken from street. Vehicle was left UNLOCKED.

06-12-21 2000 Hrs/ 07-19-21 2000 Hrs, 11900 Block of Sunset Blvd, 2013 Chevy Suburban was taken from the victim’s driveway.

Theft

07-14-21 0940 Hrs, 11700 Block of Darlington Ave, Susp contacted victim via telephone and stated that they were a DWP employee. The susp stated that the victim owed money to DWP and was instructed to send money via Zelle to keep her services on. Vict sent the money via Zelle and later found out that it was not DWP
