*If you have any ladders on your property please secure them in a locked garage, storage shed or secure with chain to prevent suspects from gaining access to the second story. Most suspects expect the second story of a home to not be alarmed like the first floor*
Remember always lock your doors and windows when you leave your home. If you have an alarm please use it and if you have security cameras, make sure they are working, and the footage can be accessed.

Robbery:
None reported

ADW (Assault With Deadly Weapon):
None Reported

BFMV (Burglary from motor vehicle)/ TFMV (Theft from motor Vehicle):
05-19-22 1200 Hrs/ 05-20-22 1600 Hrs, 11700 Block of Sunset Blvd, Susp(s) entered UNLOCKED vehicle parked in carport and removed property. Property taken was an iPod, drone and glasses.

Remember DO NOT leave key fobs in your vehicle. Most new cars will not allow you to lock your car with the key fob inside. Also, please don’t leave valuables inside your vehicle, especially if they are visible from outside the vehicle. A car parked in a secure parking garage does not make it immune from being broken into.

GTA (Grand Theft Auto):
05-19-22 0300 Hrs/ 05-19-22 0400 Hrs, 1100 Block of Granville Ave, a 2017 Kia Sportage sedan was taken from the street.
05-20-22 2200 Hrs/ 05-21-22 0500 Hrs, 2100 Block of Banyon Dr, a 2021 Honda CRV was taken from the street.
05-22-22 0525 Hrs, 300 Block of Kenter Ave, a 2020 Volvo XC90 was taken from the driveway of residence. VEHICLE WAS UNLOCKED WITH KEY FOB INSIDE.

Please don’t leave your car unlocked and most importantly NEVER leave your keys in the car. This makes it way too easy for thieves and they will continue to target the area if the opportunities are readily available.

Theft:
05-22-22 0345 Hrs- 0355 Hrs, 800 Block of Bundy Drive, Susp(s) lock of secured bike in parking garage and fled with property.

I just want to remind everyone that if some call or e-mails stating that you need to send money or gift cards most likely it’s a scam. If they say they are from a reputable company contact the company with a phone number that you acquire and check that way. Sometimes these suspects can be very convincing but never just hand over money, gift cards or any personal information.

If you are going to sell an item on the internet and meet in person make sure you have someone else with you and make the transaction in a public location. Many people meet in front of police station to make the transaction and advise the buyer of the location prior to meeting. Also, when you are shopping please keep your purse on your person and not left in the shopping cart. Thieves will many times work in pairs to distract the victim while the other suspect takes the purse. If you feel it is necessary to keep your purse in the shopping cart have it zipped up and place it in the bottom.
