BRENTWOOD CRIME UPDATE FOR LAST MONTH

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear)
3 Crimes at 12000 Wilshire Blvd, 1000 S. Barrington Ave, and 200 S. Cliffwood Ave. Weapons used were Grab and Run and a unknown hard object.

Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission)
8 Residences and 4 Businesses were broken into. They had their roofs, doors or windows pried, windows smashed, locks cut, and some left their doors and windows open. Items taken were Coins, Computer, Camera, Glasses, TV, Receiver, Cash Register, Boxes, Purse, Paintings, Cash, Jewelry, Laptops, and Tools.

LOCATIONS: 11700 Sunset Blvd, 11700, 11800 San Vicente Blvd, 16100 Mulholland Dr, l600 N. Saltaire Ave, 1000 Amalfi Dr, 1500 Sorrento Dr., 1600 Mandeville Cyn Road,and 3000 Cordella Dr.

Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission)
3 vehicles were stolen

LOCATIONS: 100 Bowling Green Way, 200 S. Church Lane, and 400 S. Barrington Ave.

Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your vehicle without permission)

13 vehicles were broken into last month. 4 were unlocked, 2 were thefts from vehicle and 7 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were Cash, GPS’s, Purse’s, IPOD, Laptops, Bag, Wallets, Cellphones, Shoes, Sunglasses, Gloves, Headphones, Glasses, Clothes, CD’s, Outside Mirrors and Head Lights.

LOCATIONS: 11300 Denair , 11700 Mayfield Ave, 11700 Sunset Blvd, 11900 Darlington Ave, 11900 Dorothy Ave, 11900 Kiowa Ave,12200 Shetland Ln, 16200 Mullholland Dr, 500 and 900 S. Barrington Ave, 13500, 13600, 13700 Bayliss Rd, and 1600 Mandeville Cyn Rd.

Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicles alarm

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you)
4 Crimes occurred between co workers, roommates, traffic disputes, and landlord and tenant.

All ending with someone punching or slapping someone else.

LOCATIONS:700 S. Bundy Dr, 11600 Goshen Ave, 12000 Kiowa Ave and 12100 Wilshire Blvd.

Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations

Theft (definition: Someone takes your property without your permission)
7rimes occurred where Bicycle, Wallet, Purse, Computer, Cash, and Credit Cards were taken

LOCATIONS: 11600, 11700 San Vicente Blvd 11900 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 Sunset Blvd, 11600 Gorham Ave, 11900 Gorham Ave, and 11700 Wilshire Blvd.

Prevention: Secure all unattended property.

You cannot rely on the police department to combat crime, you have to protect and secure your property. Be a good neighbor, keep your eyes and ears open. Call 911 or 877- ASK-LAPD…
