BRENTWOOD CRIME UPDATE FOR LAST MONTH

HELP STOP CRIME IN YOUR COMMUNITY

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear)
NONE

Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission)
8 Residences were broken into. 3 had their window or doors smashed, cut, or pried, and 5 had left their doors and windows open. Items taken were Jewelry, Cash, Tools, TV, Cash Box, Medication, Electronics, and laptop.

2 were construction site.

LOCATIONS: 700 Hanley Ave, 700 Moreno Ave, 900 S. Bundy Dr. 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11900 San Vicente Blvd, 12000 San Vicente Blvd, 12200 Darlington Ave, and 12200 Gorham Ave..

Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission)
3 vehicle were taken.

100 N. Cliffwood Ave, 300 Beliot Ave, and 11400 Wilshire Blvd.

Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your vehicle without permission)

13 vehicles were broken into last month. 8 were unlocked, and 5 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were Cash, IPOD’s, GPS, cell phones, purse, ID’s, credit cards, sunglasses, and I-Phone.

LOCATIONS: 900 Grannville Ave, 1100 Granville Ave, 1100 S. Carmelina Ave, 1100 S. Barrington Ave, 1500 Capri Dr., 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 Wilshire Blvd, 11700 Dorothy Ave, 11800 San Vicente Blvd, and 12400 Moutaingate Dr..

Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicles alarm

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you)
4 Crimes involving victims being grabbed, punched, pushed, and slashed with knife.

LOCATIONS: 100 S. Granville Ave, 600 Hanley Ave, 11900 Montana Ave, and 11700 San Vicente Blvd.

Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations

Theft (definition: Someone takes your property without your permission)
14 Crimes occurred where Food, Bicycle, Cash, Ramps, Cell Phone, Scooter, Watch, Wallet, IPOD, Camera, Backpack, Shopping cart, and Tip Jar were taken

LOCATIONS: 100 N. Church Ln., 1100 Wellesley Ave, 11400 Chenault Ave, 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 Goshen Ave, 11800 Dorothy Ave, 11800 Wilshire BL, 11900 San Vicente Blvd, 11900 Wilshire Blvd, 11900 Mayfield Ave, and 11900 Montana Ave .

2 were construction sites.

Prevention: Secure all unattended property.

You cannot rely on the police department to combat crime, you have to protect and secure your property. Be a good neighbor, keep your eyes and ears open. Call 911 or 877- ASK-LAPD…
