Brentwood Families Invited to Kickstart Mornings with Flavorful Bagels for a Good Cause

The Third Grade Class At Brentwood School Is Holding a Charity Bagel Sale

By Dolores Quintana

Rise and shine, Brentwood families! The highly anticipated 3rd-grade bagel sale is returning, offering a burst of flavor in the mornings while raising funds for international charities, as the school announced on its Facebook page. This annual event satisfies taste buds and teaches valuable lessons to the students involved.

As 3rd graders at Brentwood’s Lower School explore different countries, cultures, and people, they are also exposed to the various challenges communities worldwide face.

To make a difference, the students thoughtfully considered the issues they were most passionate about and selected four deserving organizations as beneficiaries of their bagel sale proceeds.

World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals during times of crisis and hunger relief efforts, will receive support from the 3rd graders’ charitable fundraising endeavors. The students’ commitment to helping those in need extends further with their contribution to charity: water, a nonprofit that brings clean and safe drinking water to communities in developing countries.

In recognizing the importance of preserving our oceans and marine ecosystems, the students have chosen to donate to the Ocean Conservancy, an organization focused on protecting and promoting the health of our seas. Additionally, their dedication to wildlife conservation and habitat restoration will benefit Re: wild, a nonprofit committed to preventing species extinctions and rewilding our planet.

To participate in this meaningful initiative, community members are encouraged to stop by the Lower School carpool area or in front of the Arts and Athletics building throughout the week. They can enjoy a delicious bagel or two while supporting these vital charities. Not only will their contributions positively impact the lives of those in need, but they will also provide valuable life lessons to the 3rd graders involved.

The bagel sale serves as an engaging educational experience, helping the students understand the significance of empathy, compassion, and philanthropy. By actively participating in fundraising and contributing to these noble causes, the 3rd graders are empowered to become agents of change, making a lasting difference in the world.

So, take advantage of the opportunity to indulge in a delicious bagel and contribute to a worthy cause. Visit the Lower School carpool area or the Arts and Athletics building this week, and join Brentwood’s 3rd graders in their mission to make the world a better place, one bite at a time.
