High-End Real Estate Rebounds With $186.8 Million in Contracts Signed Last Week
Sales for luxury homes in Brentwood began to move forward after the holidays and the Palisades Fire. According to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report for Los Angeles, 26 luxury homes went under contract last week in Los Angeles County. The total asking price of those 26 homes is $186.8 million. That marks a sharp increase from the previous week’s 11 contracts, which totaled $72.2 million in asking volume, according to Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes report.
The highest-priced contract last week was for three lots in Brentwood, listed for $35 million. The 150 and 142 S. Rockingham Avenue properties include a main residence called Camino con Cristo, a two-story guesthouse, a chapel, and a potting shed. Douglas Elliman agents David Solomon and Anna Solomon hold the listing.
The report tracks properties listed for $4 million or more in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
“Statistically, we are seeing an increase in both buyer and seller activity, and anecdotally, we can confirm that to be the case,” said Marcy Roth, managing director of Eklund Gomes California, as quoted by The Real Deal. “We are fielding calls daily from buyers and sellers who are testing the waters and trying to decide the best course of action. Undoubtedly, they hope to create stability in these rather chaotic times.”
