Storytime, Brick-Building, Readings, and Live Music are Highlights This Month
Althea Martinez, the Donald Kaufman Brentwood Library’s new children’s librarian, has announced the schedule for February via email. The library will continue hosting weekly storytime sessions every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. following the successful launch of the program. Brick-building Playtime will also continue on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m.
In addition, the library’s STAR volunteer readers, Alicia and Bonnie, will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m., respectively, to read with young visitors.
At this time, the Caregiver & Kid Language Learning program will not continue, though the library is considering a new program for English language learners in the coming months.
The library will also host a special author event on Saturday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m., featuring author Omid Arabian and illustrator Shilla Shakoori, who will share stories inspired by the poet Rumi.
Additionally, musician Kira Rappaport will perform literature-based songs on Monday, February 24, at 4:00 p.m. More information about Rappaport can be found on her website, www.MusicWithKira.com.
