Library Sends off Spring With Culture, Creativity, and Community
The Kaufman-Brentwood Branch Library will temporarily close for renovations beginning Monday, April 14, but not before offering two weeks of community programming to mark the seasonal transition and bid farewell—at least for now.
In the lead-up to the closure, the library will continue to host a full slate of activities for children and families. Weekly Storytimes will take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in the community room, and Brick-Building Playtime will be held on Thursdays at 3 p.m.
The popular STAR Reader program also continues through early April. Alicia will be available on Tuesdays, while Bonnie will appear on Wednesdays. On April 2, Bonnie’s hours will be modified to 2 to 4 p.m. Additionally, former STAR Reader Francesca will return for special reading sessions on Thursday at 4 p.m. and Friday at 3 p.m.
The final event before the library closes its doors will be a cultural celebration on Saturday, April 12, at 2 p.m., featuring a workshop and performance of Ballet Folklórico by Neiya Arts. The event is presented in honor of Día de los Niños and is funded by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
