Brentwood Meet Is Holding A Meet-Up At The Skirball Center

The Group Will Meet To Watch The Film “Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare.”

Brentwood Meet is a group that organizes meet up for Brentwood Residents each month to facilitate community within the district. It is organized by Simone H. Joseph. 

On June 8 from 12:00 p.. to  2:00 p.m. at the Skirball Cultural Center at 2701 N. Sepulveda Boulevard to watch the film “Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare.” as a group. The Brentwood Meet website says, “Let’s meet at the Skirball to see the exhibit “Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare.” Explore the history and impact of the Hollywood Red Scare and its contemporary implications for civil liberties, propaganda and shifting definitions of American patriotism.” and asks that participants Please RSVP to brentwoodmeet@gmail.com.

If this film isn’t your cup of tea, the group has a lot of different activities to offer, like boardgames, a book club, canasta, coffee, and cleanup Brentwood streets, crafts like knitting, crocheting, and sewing, French conversation, gardening, Mahjong, movie nights, museum outings, Russian conversation, singalongs, Spanish conversation, travel, trivia, and walking.

Most events are at the Brentwood Rec Center, 333 S. Barrington Ave, but sometimes, we sometimes host events in private homes, coffee shops, or public spaces. The location is sent 24h before the day of the event.
