Film and television writer and Brentwood resident Stu Krieger has released his debut novel “That One Cigarette.”
The novel, published by Harvard Square Editions, is a counterfactual history tale that follows four families in four disparate locations from November of 1963 to January of 2009.
The book is currently on sale in many outlets, including the Diesel Bookstore at the Brentwood Country Mart.
While this is Krieger’s first novel, he has spent many years working as a film and television writer. His credits include the animated feature film “The Land Before Time,” and 11 movies for the Disney Channel including all three “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” films, “Smart House”, “Cow Belles”, and the Emmy-winning miniseries, “A Year in the Life.”
Krieger has also been a full time professor of film and TV writing at the University of California, Riverside, for the past 11 years, and teaches one class a year at USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program.
In April 2017, Kriger received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Screenwriting at the Riverside International Film Festival.
Krieger and his wife, Hillary, have lived in Brentwood since 1990 and both of their children graduated from Kenter Canyon, Paul Revere and Pali High.
