Ray Leier, the event’s producer commented, “I am constantly looking for the most interesting and unique artists and craftspeople to showcase their work at our shows. Selecting the artists is one of my favorite jobs. As owner of Westwood’s del Mano Gallery, I understand the importance of choosing the region’s most talented. In reviewing each application, I keep an eye out for an interesting mix of styles, from whimsical to contemporary conversation pieces, intermixed with traditional art festival favorites.â€
Leier added, “Today’s economy presents shoppers with a dilemma: save money because you might need it tomorrow, or spend money to stimulate the economy and support your community. The solution is both, but shop wisely. Our show offers browsing and buying advantages: all items are hand-made and many are one-of-a-kind collectables. It’s one-stop shopping, with all hand-made items, no mass productions are allowed, buying hand-made sure beats the heck out of the mass-produced items available at the local mall.â€
Ray Leier’s del Mano Productions has been a long-time supporter of community-based organizations and local non-profits and frequently providing exhibit space to area groups at no charge or reduced registration rates. Over the years, Leier’s company has donated more than one hundred thousand dollars in event proceeds to assist efforts of community projects and programs.
President and founder of Altadena-based del Mano Productions, Leier, is also founder of Westwood’s award-winning del Mano Gallery.
