BRENTWOOD SPRING ART SHOW SET FOR SUNDAY APRIL 25 OFFERS ART LOVERS AN GALLEY OF STYLES TO BROWSE ‘N BUY

Celebrating its twenty-third year in West Los Angeles, this year’s Brentwood Spring Art Show is set for Sunday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The outdoor event showcases professional fine artists and craftspeople along the eastbound lanes of San Vicente Boulevard, beginning at Saltair and running east to Darlington in Brentwood.

The one-day extravaganza features thousands of great gifts items, art collector’s favorites, eclectic home décor, and more. The event also presents live jazz performances by the Ed Wing Trio, the Jammin Foundation Jazz Ensemble with musical director Jacques Lesure, and the Jazzzone Ensemble with musical director Stephen Foster, offers guests an international food court of tasty treats, and provides an entertainment area for children with rides, games and assorted amusements.

Admission to the event is free and plenty of parking is available.

This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the Greater West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce 13th Annual Business Expo. Come out and meet the talented people who own and operate the businesses that serve the community and benefit the local economy. Visit the website at www.WestLAchamber.org or call (310) 481-0600 for additional information.

The Brentwood Spring Art Show is one of the city’s favorite events for serious collectors and art-loving browsers. With displays and exhibits where everything is available for purchase—from fine art and photography, clothing and accessories, jewelry, sculptures and wall art to stained glass, kinetic art, hand-blown glass, porcelain and ceramics, paper and textiles, potpourri, soaps and candles, toys, dollhouses, and furniture—this show has something for even the most finicky buyers.

A few of this year’s juried artisans include:
Jewelry – Adele Lynas, Starfire Jewelry (Tustin)
Photography – James Zheng (Alhambra)
Jewelry – Jivita Harris Sasey (Long Beach)
Embellished Gourds – Terese Miller, Laughing Spirit Gourds (Monrovia)
Oil Paintings – Liz Cummings (Laguna Nigel)
Contemporary Wood Boxes – Jeffrey Seaton, Seaton Wood Design (Ojai)

The 23rd Annual Brentwood Spring Show is produced by Ray Leier, co-owner of Westwood’s del Mano Galley and co-sponsored sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brentwood and supported by the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

“This is a juried show, you’ll never see mass-produced items†explains event producer Ray Leier. “The major prerequisite for any of our art shows: All of the artwork must be hand-made. Our audience always expects the finest works available and quite often you’ll find rare pieces and one-of-a-kind finds. We turndown hundreds of applications each season because the work doesn’t meet our standards. I look for handmade items—those that display expert workmanship and are uniquely creative and interesting are always accepted.â€

Leier continued, “Proceeds from both Brentwood Art Shows (Spring and Autumn) support the Rotary Club of Brentwood’s various community activities. Our financial contributions have assisted area students, teachers and schools. We believe it is our responsibility to support the community we serve and I encourage the public to attend the event, browse the displays of the exhibiting artists and listen to the great musicians who lend their talent participating in this event.â€

Ray Leier’s del Mano Productions has been a long-time supporter of local non-profits and community-based organizations that provide arts enrichment, education, mentoring, and scholarship programs, always sharing profits from each event with local organizations and frequently providing exhibit space to area groups at no charge or reduced registration rates.

Leier explained, “Every community has a special organization in need of additional funds not raised the traditional way. Some organizations can’t afford to put on large gala fund-raisers, those groups that are the most in need are the ones we seek out to assist. Over the years, we have donated more than one hundred thousand dollars to assist efforts of community projects. I’m proud to know that in some small way, we helped them reach their goals.â€
