Brentwood Weekly Crime Report: April 27, 2025 – May 3, 2025

Crime Spikes as LAPD Asks for Public’s Help in New Investigation

Senior Lead Officer Kirk’s latest crime report for last week shows an uptick in crimes in Brentwood. In a late-breaking development, SLO Kirk emailed an addendum about a robbery that took place this week, because he felt it was important to get the word out immediately about the crime.

He also asked for assistance from the Brentwood community who live nearby, so anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact West Los Angeles Robbery Detective Hernandez at (310) 444-1541, or if you have video to reach out to SLO Kirk via email. 

Burglary: 

(Attempt) 04-30-25 20:35 Hrs, 900 Block of S. Westgate Ave, Suspect #1 climbed up to the second-story balcony and partially opened the sliding glass door and shined a flashlight inside the apartment, alerting the residents. 

Suspect #1 then fled to a white infinity SUV driven by Suspect  #2. No property taken. Suspect #1 was only described as a male, approximately. 6’0 and 175 lbs, wearing dark clothing.  

Robbery: 

05-07-25, 3:50 p.m. 130 Block of South Anita Avenue

Two victims were walking northbound on Anita Avenue when they were approached by three suspects in a dark gray four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Honda, with all black tinted windows. SLO Kirk stated in his addendum to this week’s crime report that if you have any info regarding the robbery, the contact info for robbery detectives is at the bottom of the community alert. 

For anyone who lives on Anita between Sunset and San Vicente, SLO Kirk asks that you please check your cameras around the time of the robbery. Also, anyone who lives on the adjacent streets, please check your cameras for any possible suspects or suspect vehicles. If nearby residents have any video, SLO Kirk asks that you send it to his email: 34713@lapd.online

Suspect-1 and Suspect-2 exited the vehicle, both armed with black handguns. They pointed the firearms at the victims and demanded their property. As both victims attempted to flee, they were chased by the suspects.

Victim-1 was confronted and surrendered his satchel to Suspect-1. Victim-2 managed to escape southbound on Anita Avenue.

Suspect-1: Male Black, wearing a black ski mask, gray hoodie, black pants, armed with a black handgun.

Suspect-2: Male Black, wearing a black ski mask, black hoodie, black pants, armed with a black handgun.

Suspect-3: Male Black, wearing a black ski mask and black hoodie. Suspect-3 was the driver and remained in the vehicle.

ADW (Assault With Deadly Weapon): 

04-23-25 17:40 Hrs, San Vicente between Burlingame and Bristol, the suspect drove a Cadillac SUV toward the victim. No injuries.  

BFMV (Burglary from motor vehicle)/ TFMV (Theft from Motor Vehicle) 

04-30-25 1545 Hrs, 1100 Block of Barry Ave, The suspect(s) removed the rear license plate from a 2014 Honda sedan parked on the street. 

GTA (Grand Theft Auto 

04-28-25 02:45 Hrs, 200 Block of S. Woodburn Drive, a 2023 BMW X7 was taken from the victim’s driveway. Security video shows two males approach the vehicle and use an unknown type of tool to enter the vehicle. 

Suspects were described as male Hispanic, both wearing blue hoodies and jeans. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle and in the suspect’s vehicle, which was a black BMW with no plates. 

04-29-25 21:00 Hrs / 05-01-25 12:00 Hrs, 12200 Block of Dorothy Street, a 2024 BMW was taken from the street. 

05-02-25 22:00 Hrs / 05-03-25 10:00 Hrs, 1600 Block of N. Bundy Drive, a 2023 Hyundai Tucson was taken from the street. 

Theft:  

04-27-25 12:05 Hrs, 12000 Block of Wilshire Blvd, Suspect entered the store and placed items in the store’s back room and walked out without attempting to pay. The suspect was arrested a short distance away by LAPD patrol officers. 

05-02-25 17:15 Hrs, 12000 Block of Wilshire Blvd, Suspect entered the store and placed numerous bottles of wine inside the shopping cart and left the store without attempting to pay. Security confronted the suspect and was able to retain the store merchandise. 

The suspect fled  Eastbound on Goshen in a white pickup truck with no license plates. Suspect described as a  male Hispanic, approximately. 6’1” 210 lbs and 28 years of age wearing a black hat and all black clothing.
