Number of Crimes Dip, but Thefts, Vehicle Break-Ins Still Noted
Crime reports in Brentwood declined last week compared to the previous reporting period, according to Senior Lead Officer Matthew Kirk of the Los Angeles Police Department.
No burglaries, robberies, or assaults with a deadly weapon were reported in the neighborhood. However, police logged several theft-related incidents:
Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicle (BFMV/TFMV):
- Aug. 6, 3:20 p.m., 500 block of South Westgate Avenue: A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the street.
- Between Aug. 8 at 5:30 p.m. and Aug. 9 at 9 a.m., 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue: Papers were taken from the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle.
Grand Theft Auto (GTA):
- Between Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 4 at 7:30 a.m., 11900 block of Darlington Avenue: An e-scooter was taken from a parking garage.
- Aug. 9, 2:20 a.m., 11900 block of West Gorham Avenue: A 2006 Cadillac Escalade was stolen from a driveway.
Theft:
- Aug. 5, 8:35 p.m., 700 block of Norway Lane: Jewelry was stolen from a FedEx delivery box left on a porch.
- Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Aug. 9, 11800 block of Goshen Avenue: Packages containing clothing were taken from an apartment lobby.
