Brentwoodmeet Celebrates 1st Birthday with Trivia, Fun, and Holiday Cheer

Entertaining Evening of Questions, Prizes, and Festivities

Brentwoodmeet held a trivia night that doubled as a birthday celebration for the organization on December 9 at the Barrington Recreation Center. Many Brentwood residents came by to enjoy lively trivia questions, holiday cheer, snacks, and making new friends. 

Simone Joseph said in a statement, “The event was filled with fun, food, and friends, and it was all free. Celebrate the season. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Happy Holidays.Thanks for your support.” 

Every trivia guest and every member of the recreation center staff received a special holiday present. Brentwoodmeet wanted to especially thank the group’s sponsor, the Law Offices of Stephen L. Joseph, and Brentwood neighbors Anne H., Joanna C., and Mikayla J., Nancy F, Courtney M for donating some of the presents.

  • Which was invented first: Sliced bread or the toaster?
    • Answer: The toaster was invented first. Charles Strife debuted the “Toastmaster” toaster in 1919, two years before sliced bread became popular.
  • What is the main ingredient in the Bombay Duck? Is it duck, beef, chicken, fish, or cauliflower?
    • Answer: The main ingredient is fish. Bombay Duck is a species of fish transported from Bombay to Calcutta during the early days of railways in India.
  • In 1911, Pablo Picasso was on an official Paris police list of suspects for a crime. What crime was he suspected of?
    • Answer: He was suspected of stealing the Mona Lisa. However, he was never charged.
  • Frederick Graff invented this invention in 1801, which he claimed he had patented. However, the U.S. Patent Office burned down, and he could not prove it. What was the invention? You will see many of these in Los Angeles.
    • Answer: The invention was the fire hydrant.
