Cannabis Dispensary Planned for Brentwood

Velvet Cannabis seeks to open Wilshire Boulevard in Brentwood

By Dolores Quintana

Velvet Cannabis dispensary has announced intentions to open branches of their Northern California cannabis dispensary in Brentwood and Eagle Rock as reported by What Now Los Angeles. The potential Brentwood branch would be located at 12071 Wilshire Boulevard.

The owners of the company, Farid Harrison and Matt Morea, have applied to the City of Los Angeles’ Planning Department for approval to merge four vacant stores into one single store.

If their proposal is approved, the dispensary would open in the former and now vacant spaces that were previously occupied by a custom tailor, a dry cleaning business, a hairdressing studio and a spa.

The Brentwood location would be the second branch of the burgeoning chain and an Eagle Rock store would be the third. There isn’t a date for the Eagle Rock store as yet.

The store’s Martinez website tells the story of the company which says, “Founded by two friends and California natives in 2018, Velvet offers an exceptional, full-service shopping experience in each of our premium retail locations. Expect clean, airy and inviting spaces with a relaxed vibe and attentive staff, who can guide you through our menu to uncover the experience you’re looking for. Whether you’re a longtime enthusiast, patient or just canna- curious, we have something for everyone and we’ll make you feel right at home.”

The company offers senior and veteran discounts and rotating and weekly specials as well as a program called the Velvet Rope Treatment which allows customers to order ahead or “relax and enjoy our full-service treatment.”

The product that the website advertises comes from “well connected buyers” who “procure the very best lab-tested THC and CBD products, at competitive prices,” and that customers can find a safe, diverse and specially curated selection of cannabis flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, topical products, vape cartridges from both top brands and exciting new companies.
