Catering to stressed & swamped Westside lifestyles, YogaWorks opens new Yoga Studio in Brentwood

studio
YogaWorks Brentwood is now open with a Grand Opening Party for the community scheduled for Thursday, June 18.

When walking into YogaWorks’ newest studio in Brentwood, you literally close the door on the traffic and rush of Wilshire Blvd. behind you. High walls, bamboo floors, and a cheerful front desk take you in. It’s as if you can finally breathe.

From there, YogaWorks becomes a candy shop for the motivated, no matter the level of experience. The first of the company’s kind, YogaWorks Brentwood now offers traditional yoga instruction alongside high-exhilarating fitness classes.

“It’s the perfect blend, mix, and match of a great, high-quality yoga studio with a great fitness gym, plus also spa-like amenities and an environment,” said studio manager Kevin Elliott. “Our ultimate goal is when someone walks in, they say, ‘ahhh, I’m here.’ They walk out and they have kind of like what we call, Yoga Brain.”

Elliott, a retired professional track and field athlete, has big plans for his Brentwood studio.

“YogaWorks offers just a different type of opportunity as compared to our other local neighboring YogaWorks studios,” he said.

Their Mindful Fitness Program now brings trademarked classes like TRX, ScuptWorks, BarreWorks, and Pilates Mat into the curriculum. And for yoga purists, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, among others, remain at the helm of YogaWorks’ signature style.

Classes have just begun at YogaWorks Brentwood, and the Grand Opening Party for all members, friends and the community is set for Thursday, June 18 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 p.m. The event will feature an official ribbon cutting, live yoga demonstrations, studio tours, healthy appetizers, beverages, music and more.

The studio is a 5,500 square-foot urban oasis featuring two yoga spacious yoga studios equipped to offer up to 85 classes per week, along with a private instruction room. It’s located at 11620 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 101, between Barrington and Federal Ave., and includes 90 minutes free parking in the parking lot behind the adjoining building.

YogaWorks Brentwood also acts as a health club, with amenities like changing rooms, showers, and lockers for member convenience.

While other yoga studios might require 200 hours of certification, YogaWorks’ instructors are 500-hours certified. World-renowned YogaWorks teachers will be teaching classes in Brentwood on a regular basis, including Mia Togo, Patti Quintero, Caley Yavorsky and more.

Santa Monica-based YogaWorks, a national industry leader in yoga practice and yoga teacher training, opened its first studio on Montana Ave. in 1987. Since then, the company has opened 16 other locations in Los Angeles and 30 nationwide.

YogaWorks Brentwood marks the company’s third studio built in conjunction with the CIM Group, a full service real estate and infrastructure fund manager. Later this year, additional studios are slated to open in Woodland Hills, Playa Vista and Korea Town.

“Everything from the decor to the team members I hired, the teachers we bring on board, the classes that we have – it’s really kind of grooming this organic living being to kind of grow into this happy spot,” Elliott said.
