In recent months, Craig Greiwe, a public relations and strategy executive, has been building a grassroots movement called RiseTogether.LA. Rise Together is a grassroots movement that seeks to give everyday citizens a greater voice in Los Angeles politics.
Greiwe has appeared at several gatherings across the Westside talking about what he sees as the need for wholesale change in Los Angeles politics.
Greiwe says political power in LA is an insider’s game, with developers and other monied interests getting what they want while problems like homelessness, affordable housing, crime and traffic go unsolved.
At a Griffith Park gathering on Nov. 16, Greiwe made it official: he was running for Mayor of Los Angeles in the election to be held in 2022. Greiwe said he was the only candidate with actual plans to solve LA’s most pressing issues.
Several CD 11 residents were in attendance. Greiwe has a following among those seeking to recall Mike Bonin.
Greiwe will step down as executive director of RiseTogether.LA. Ben Tyler, a political activist from Colorado, will now take over that effort.
