Embrace Summer At The Donald Bruce Kaufman – Brentwood Branch Library

Exciting New Author Visit Schedule For July, No Brick Building (LEGO) This Week

The Donald Bruce Kaufman – Brentwood Branch Library is embracing the full swing of summer with its ongoing Summer Reading Challenge, where participants of all ages can embark on a literary adventure. The library recently announced a special event scheduled for July that promises to delight book lovers. Renowned author and illustrator Jon Klassen will be making a visit, and more details about this exciting occasion will be revealed soon. In the meantime, library patrons can explore the wide range of books written and/or illustrated by Jon Klassen available in the library’s collection.

With the library bustling with summer activities, here’s a look at the upcoming schedule for the week:

Tuesday, June 27th, 3:00 pm: Summer STEAM Craft – Chemical Reactions and Diffusion Art On Tuesday afternoon, the library will host a Summer STEAM Craft session. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about chemical reactions while creating fascinating diffusion art. This hands-on activity is sure to engage young minds and inspire creativity.

Wednesday, June 28th, 10:30 am: Toddler/Preschool Storytime Join in the fun on Wednesday morning as the library presents Toddler/Preschool Storytime. Little ones and their caregivers can enjoy captivating stories, interactive songs, and rhymes, fostering a love for reading from an early age.

Wednesday, June 28th, 3:00-5:00 pm: STAR Reader Bonnie In the afternoon, the library welcomes STAR Reader Bonnie. Spend some time with Bonnie, a and practice reading skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. Bonnie’s friendly presence provides an enjoyable way for children to build confidence in their reading abilities.

Thursday, June 29th, 4:00-6:00 pm: STAR Reader Camille On Thursday evening, library visitors will have the chance to meet STAR Reader Camille. Camille will be available for children to read to, enhancing their reading skills and fostering a love of books. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to experience the joy of reading with Camille.

Please take note that this Thursday, the library’s regular Brick Building (LEGO) Playtime will not take place. However, the popular Brick Building Playtime will return on Thursday, July 6th, offering children a chance to explore their creativity and construction skills through LEGO play. As the library buzzes with excitement, remember to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, an excellent way to make the most of the season while discovering new books and expanding your horizons. Keep an eye out for further announcements about the upcoming visit from acclaimed author Jon Klassen, and in the meantime, dive into his captivating works available at the library.
