World Loses Two Different Conservatives in March as Andrew Breitbart and James Wilson Pass Away
John Q. Wilson, a well thought of conservative, who did insightful work on the importance of character and private virtue among people targeted by public policies and private virtues died on March 2nd at age 82. Andrew Breitbart, half Wilson’s age, died a day before Wilson on March 1. Breitbart left four children and a wife in Brentwood where he operated multiple partisan internet sites which relied on manipulation and strategic editing while espousing his abrasive and zealous criticism of mainstream media.

Mother’s Day Church Attendance Ranks Third Behind Christmas and Easter
Lifeway Research conducted a nationwide survey of 1,000 Protestant pastors and discovored Mother’s Day is third in church attendance behind Christmas and Easter. The researchers also discovered Father’s Day is near the bottom in church attendance. Brentwood pastors mostly indicated that they already knew the popularity of Mother’s Day. The National Retail Federation reported spending for Mother’s Day gifts was up 8% to $18.6 million this year.

Former Mayor Richard Riordan’s Candidate for Mayor Withdraws From the “Undecided Raceâ€
Austin Beutner, the wealthy former banker who was being touted by former Mayor Richard Riordan of Brentwood, has withdrawn from the race because he has been unable to gain traction in a year of campaigning. The candidate of the Chamber of Commerce and Los Angeles business interests, Beutner has pledged to pay back every person who contributed to his campaign. His departure may force developer, Rick Caruso, into the race as the businessman’s “favorite†.

‘My Fair Lady’ Star in Escrow to Sell Her Brentwood Home Which She Shared with the Late Blake Edwards
Julie Andrews, 76, is selling her secluded home in Brentwood which she and her husband, the late Blake Edwards, shared for many years. Most people in Brentwood didn’t even know Andrews and Blake lived in Brentwood because the home, which is now in escrow, is surrounded by tall trees and hedges. Andrews won an Oscar for her performance in “Mary Poppins†and she starred in “My Fair Lady†and “Camelot†.

LETTER TO HERB CHASE
I was glad to read that other people were offended by Mr. Chase’ s “eulogy†of Andrew Breitbart. I discussed it with some neighbors who also were kind of shocked .
We feel the Brentwood News should stay out of politics!

Sincerely, Danielle Ross
(40 year Brentwood resident)
